Does PSA really cost $30 for shipping?

I want to send my items to PSA authentication and for one it cost $30 for the authentication then on top of that it cost $30 for priority mail shipping. I can not believe they would charge $30 for shipping when it only cost $5. Is there any other way I can get PSA to authenticate my items other than shipping them. Also I looked at the shows none of them are coming around my town.

Well, at least they are upfront with their costs. Probably to not be inundated by people who would send any old ball and hope to hit a jackpot.
