Are you afraid of death?

  • I've never really been afraid of death. I've always thought that if I got into a car accident and died, the only thing that would worry me was the temporary pain..that's it. I didn't fear death at all. But last night, I had a dream which changed my entire perspective about this. I was forced to death by doctors because I had some sort of illness. With a flash of light in my eyes, I would instantly die. The doctors gave me two hours to lie down on the hospital bed and that's when I began to think: What happens after death? I got so scared. I wasn't prepared to die. I was convinced that nothing could be better than life here on earth. I didn't end up dying in the dream. But now, I'm extremely afraid of death. It's like this huge mystery and whatver it is..I'm not prepared for it.

    I am terrified of the idea of death. the notion that an eternity of nothingness waits for me is one of the most daunting things imaginable. my short existence will be followed by billions and billions and billions of years of nothingness, an eternity, an incomprehensible amount of time. that my consciousness will cease to exist. There has been many a time when this fear has genuinely kept me awake at night with some of the most powerful emotions i've ever felt. i've never disclosed this to anyone so i guess in a way i'm using this answer as an outlet for my fears. The only thing you can do is live your life to the fullest, and make this short spell of life exceptional...or hope stem cell research has advanced enough in the net 30 years to make immortality an option aha

The more you anticipate death, the more you fear it. The more you reflect on it, the more you fear it. The more you think about what will happen after death, the more you fear it. What I'm trying to get here is to don't worry about it, because fate decides what happens, and there's really nothing you can do about it and just enjoy your life.

I'm not afraid of death. We shouldn't be afraid of the inevitable. Why am I not afraid of death you may wonder? I am happy with what I've done in life. People are scared to die, but honestly besides those close to you, what is worth living for? We are living in a dying world of greed and hate. But that's just how I see it:p and for the record I'm not suicidal in anyway....

Same here. I'm 15 and i have had those thoughts sense i was little. I always started crying and Quentin to my mom. She said there was nothing to fear, if you beloved in god nothing bad can happen. That always helped. I read the Bible after that and after a few days i felt better. If you beloved in God you should pray. You don't have to go to church all the time and be engrossed in the Bible, just having faith is enough. Me and my friends were discussing this in class Friday, and we talked about god and everything that happened in the past and Bible. Im going to be honest with you, once you realize this you will continue to think about it and dream about it. Your scared to die because you still have something to live for. For me, its my family. Without my family I'm pretty sure i wouldn't mind dying because they are the purpose in my life. Your scared to die because you still have something to live for. No, I don't fear death. It is something that will happen to everyone at some point. There is nothing I can do to change that.
