How do I choose a mentor for my professional life?

Finding the answers of life, mentor?

• I am an 18 year old male living in idaho. I am constantly perplexed on questions in life that i believe no one person can answer except possibly myself. I see life as a journey and wish to find the answers i am looking for before my inevitable death. I am an atheist/agnostic so religious aspects of life only slightly intrigue me only if they have to do with examining the self and attempting to perfect it. I have recently thought of trying to a find a mentor. Someone who has gone through life and has the wisdom to guide me on the correct way in order to find eventually what i seek. Does anyone have any tips and hints on how to find such a person or go about selecting someone? Any ideas will be of great help and i will consider all answers given to me. also I am not necessarily looking for someone to give me answers but to possibly show me wisdom beyond my years. To see things from a new perspective. To learn as much as i can from them and from there form new opinions and then figure it all out for myself. If that makes sense haha
