How would you like it if all your wishes/thoughts were to come true? Will that make you happy; or scared?
-
Yesterday, two of my wishes were fulfilled...making me ecstatic...and extremely grateful to God :) That got me pondering...that if all our wishes were to be granted, will it not burden us with more responsibilities, forcing us to exercise extreme control to deny negative thoughts entry! Try as much, thoughts come involuntarily at times... So, are you happy with the way God's grace works? Atheists' views are welcome too :) Thanks!

Answer:
Good for you, ma'am. Well...you've made a good point there. Reminds me of that phrase "Be careful what you wish for" I am happy with the way God's grace works. Rise early and reap the fruits of your labor.

Once one of my wishes come true, and at first I was in some kind of shock..but then I was happy :) And after that moment I always have something in my mind that maybe the next wish will come true , not right away but maybe there is a very high chance that it may come true :) Yes it makes me a little scared is every wish came true...but that is only because I never win anything in my life, and when I receive something I like Is like a little miracle to me :)

If you imagine a world where you are not subject to consequences, that is, one where you control the consequences by way of offering the imagination of a device that allows you to counter what physics in our reality, upon which your imagination of a world similar to our own is based, then you will find the answer to this question. In my case, having delved into such an imagination, I found that the only self-respecting way, which is what produces happiness and self-esteem, lead me to conclude that satisfaction can only be found in imagining the sort of conduct that earns the respect and admiration of all the people you can imagine, so far as my logic is capable of dictating what makes me worthy of respect. This is a reflective way to assess what is respectable, and you can only respect yourself so far as you feel fully justified by the principles observed in reality, upon which your understanding of truth is based.

nope............i'd be bored to death!!!!!! Its the unmet wishes and dreams that keeps man ticking on.... If all of it were to be met....... we'd all be turned into zombies plodding on, not knowing what to live for...........

Theres only one thing I want, and I'd be very happy to actually meet her.
I'd be worried and scared, asking myself what would be the price to pay for it. Nobody gives you everything you wish for free. Neither God Himself.

Thoughts, no. Dreams, no. Desires, yes. Strategic ideas with all angles, desired outcomes in check, yes.

all of your thoughts and wishes DO come true. that's the irony of being an atheist. They wish to just go back to nothingness. And that's exactly what they get. Whereas someone who wishes to explore the galaxy, that's what THEY get. The perfect example of this is the American poet, Walt Whitman. He was a conscious being. In his Magnum Opus, "Leaves of Grass" in his poems, he describes what his life is like with a SECOND BODY. That he calls a SOUL. He managed to acquire one. And because of that, he could go ANYWHERE AIR COULD GO. ("screaming electric, the atmosphere using...") If you were to read Song Of Myself and Salut Au Monde, it's clear that he can enter into the living immediate awareness of ANY PERSON ON EARTH. He isn't speaking metaphorically or poetically, he is describing what he is experiencing with his soul. Walt Whitman INHERITED THE EARTH. And that is what a person who penetrates the third state of consciousness shall do. With atheists, nothing is so to the point as the expression "pride goeth before a fall". Atheists are SO PROUD of their intellectual center, be it sophisticated or simple, imagining that one's intellect can understand everything there is about the universe. But the universe is INFINITELY more than the intellect can ever fathom. But it's EASY. Why go to the trouble of finding out the real purpose to existence when you have a ready made rubber stamp called FORMATORY THINKING that is so enamored by the likes of Stephen Hawking, Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchins, Bill Gates, Albert Einstein and others of their ilk? It so much EASIER to say "this is all there is, there ain't no mystery, no secret". They buttered their bread. And so NO POSSIBILITIES (read: Hell) awaits them. They're not going to be too happy with the way THEIR shot turned out.
