Wait, if God created everything in the Universe, then who Created God?
-
A number of skeptics ask this question. But God by definition is the uncreated creator of the universe, so the question Who created God? is illogical, just like To whom is the bachelor married? So a more sophisticated questioner might ask: If the universe needs a cause, then why doesn't God need a cause? And if God doesn't need a cause, why should the universe need a cause? In reply, Christians should use the following reasoning: 1. Everything which has a beginning has a cause.1 2. The universe has a beginning. 3. Therefore the universe has a cause. Its important to stress the words in bold type. The universe requires a cause because it had a beginning, as will be shown below. God, unlike the universe, had no beginning, so doesn't need a cause. In addition, Einstein's general relativity, which has much experimental support, shows that time is linked to matter and space. So time itself would have begun along with matter and space. Therefore He is not limited by the time dimension He created, so has no beginning in time God is the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity (Isaiah 57:15). Therefore He doesn't have a cause. In contrast, there is good evidence that the universe had a beginning. This can be shown from the Laws of Thermodynamics, the most fundamental laws of the physical sciences. * 1st Law: The total amount of mass-energy in the universe is constant. * 2nd Law: The amount of energy available for work is running out, or entropy is increasing to a maximum. If the total amount of mass-energy is limited, and the amount of usable energy is decreasing, then the universe cannot have existed forever, otherwise it would already have exhausted all usable energy the heat death of the universe. For example, all radioactive atoms would have decayed, every part of the universe would be the same temperature, and no further work would be possible. So the obvious corollary is that the universe began a finite time ago with a lot of usable energy, and is now running down. Photo copyrighted. All rights reserved. Now, what if the questioner accepts that the universe had a beginning, but not that it needs a cause? But it is self-evident that things that begin have a cause no-one really denies it in his heart. All science and history would collapse if this law of cause and effect were denied. So would all law enforcement, if the police didn't think they needed to find a cause for a stabbed body or a burgled house. Also, the universe cannot be self-caused nothing can create itself, because that would mean that it existed before it came into existence, which is a logical absurdity. The problem is that even after this, most people will STILL say ask WHO CREATED GOD, just because they CANNOT understand that out finite minds cannot comprehend the nature of 'God'.

Answer:
The people who ask "who created God?" aren't the ones you should be debating with. Anyway, you make very valid points, and I really enjoyed reading your post. The point I'd like to bring up though is, it took an obviously intelligent person using abstract theories to give a possible answer to a single mystery about God. The problem with our idea of "God" however is that people assume they know the truth about a being that is far beyond human comprehension. Even those who don't personally know but believe in religion; they are putting their faith in other humans that tried to give all of life's biggest questions answers that could be understood by humans. The problem with the existence of God isn't so much if he/she/they/it exists, but rather that a human mind cannot grasp the possibilities of the existence of an omniscient being. Sure, anyone can try and guess, and some have much better understanding than others. But to claim to have the definitive "truth" is simple arrogance.

exactly, our minds were not made to even remotely understand this. God has no beginning and no end. we probably can't understand this because in the world that we live in, everything has a beginning and everything has an end, but people need to understand that everything existing doesn't revolve around us.
Hello
When an artist paints a painting he becomes a painter. When God created the world he became God.

Interesting thinking, Ive heard it before. The only thing thats missing is motive...WHY would something existing outside of time and space, something that feels nothing, create everything? That does not add up. The only answer is is that the universe is God and the universe just always was, matter and time has no beginning and has always existed just like you think God has. There is no reason that God would just have always existed and matter and time could not have just always been. Its silly really. And to answer your question, obviously God exists out side of nature. So HE has no nature. We do. So why do we give a **** about HIM?

.great job its like you read my mind. I have countless of pages that i have written on my Microsoft word page that says pretty much what yours says you should also add. Reason and purpose. Since the universe was created and had a beginning(cause) and created the galaxies(effect)then their most be a reason. A cause doesn’t happen for no reason. So the effect(us and the universe) is for a purpose. Since we are worshiping/idolizing creature one can only conclude its to praise the most high. I can go on forever talking about this

time does not exist in God's world. It is in our human nature and 3Dimensional thinking to wonder how something was created without physically seeing it. God was always there.

my thought on this is somewhat along the lines of what was said in an earlier answer by The Saint... man created god. Yes agreed that recently there have been attempts to disprove the evolutionary theory of charles darwin. However how about this: as i grew up, i always qns why god allows his creations to suffer, why does he not deminish satan's once and for all? Why why and a bigger why as i got older actually... My qns were nvr answered as i got answers like "god helps those who helps themselves" etc... excuse or fact? I seriously wonder. I think its more to towards the incredible minds we have... We created god out of cognition, some "raw" cognition on a higher authority seeing us, who will judge us. I personally do not believe in the existance of god or satan, oh and btw, to me even satan is a product of our creativity. Think, there must be something that is balancing "good" and "evil"... instead of blaming ourselves for our wrong, we created an entity to take the blame... it is this entity that made us do evil deeds... perhaps the idea of being a follower and go to heaven, be a sinner and be condemned to hell is somewhat of a motivator/reinforcement? to make us do good and restrain from doing bad? or perhaps it is our ID, ego and superego in the sub/unconscious influencing our conscious mind? Consider the argument brought up here...
What an intelligent person. There's a variable, however. God has a purpose because he is not a force, but at least that is what I come to believe. God is not a force, he thinks. He makes decisions. He does as he pleases. Therefore, since he is alive and makes decisions, he does things. He has action and movement, and behind each movement and action is a purpose. However, I don't know everything, and I don't know as much as you do. You may have already thought about this. But what a riveting conversation. It's great to have an intelligent person make such an intelligent statement.
