How to write balanced net ionic equations?

How do i write balanced net ionic equations for reactions...?

  • Write balanced net ionic equations for reactions that produced a precipitate containing the magnesium ion (Mg2+) I have Hydroxide (OH^1-), Carbonate (CO3^2-) and Phosphate (PO4^3-) i think the first is MgOH2 i dont know the carbonate or phosphate one. help please?

  • Answer:

    Just make sure that the total negative charge balances the total positive charge for the compound. Mg2+ and 2 (OH^-) = Mg(OH)2 Mg2+ and CO3^2- = MgCO3 3 (Mg2+) and 2(PO4^3-) = Mg3(PO4)2
