1)Both milk and food coloring are mostly made of water, yet they didn't dissolve into each other very rapidly when you added a drop of food coloring to milk. why did this occur? what kind of mixture is milk and how does it slow down the dissolving process? 2)Do you think the food coloring eventually mix with milk? why or why not **3)Which portion of the soap molecules interacted with the food coloring? How do you know?Provide evidence from your observations. Also, what is a evaporation Residue? would solution,suspension, colloid, pure solvent have evaporation residue?

1) The difference is that milk is an emulsion of fat in water and most food colorings are designed to go into a solution in an aqueous environment. 2) Yes, just slower. 3) Soap is a surfactant that compatibilizes the fat and water. All based on the idea that the food coloring you are using is designed for an aqueous solution.
