How does concentration affect the rate of reaction?

How does temperature, concentration, catalyst, & surface area affect reaction rate?

  • i just need the four factors that affect reaction rate to be explained please.

  • Answer:

    - higher the temp, faster the reaction because the particles have more energy to move faster and collide with each other to react. - a catalyst lowers the energy needed for a reaction - so add a catalyst and the reaction goes faster. its like it pulls the particles together to react. - greater the surface area, faster the reaction. powder salts react fastest, big rocky chips react slower - because more atoms are exposed to whatever it is reacting with - higher the concentration, faster the reaction. because if something has a high concentration it has more particles - so more to react with faster...
