Which chemical solvent can remove permanent marker shadows from (HDPE) High Density Polyethylene plastic?

All chemical solvents always leave a slight shadow or ghost impression behind on the (HDPE) High Density Polyethylene plastic surface...The black coloring from the permanent marker always comes off BUT the shadow or ghost impression is always left behind...Which chemical solvent is needed to remove this shadow completely???...
Answer:

100% ethanol will work for sure unless the marker stain has been cooked on there with high temperatures. Acetone will work better but it also might melt the plastic so you might want to check to see if it can handle acetone.
