Where does a bond get its stored energy from?

Bonds have stored energy in them, right? And, bond formation releases energy whereas, bond breaking requires energy, right? So, my question is that where does the stored energy in a bond come from? Does the energy released in the forming of bond get stored? If not then WHERE DOES the stored energy in the bond come from? Furthermore, if there is stored energy in the bond, then shouldn't breaking the bond RELEASE energy?

Answer:
the electrons in the bond are shared by the two positively charged nuclei which is a lower energy state. Also, a little more obscure, is in quantum mechanics the more "wavey" the function the higher its energy. The wave function gets more blurred out which also lowers the energy. So the energy is positive and negative charges getting more cosey
