What elements is air made up of?

What are these elements? please help. I have clues?

  • 1. A room is made of a clear life-giving gas. This element is a non metal, diatomic gas that comprises about 20% of normal air. it combines with most other elements to form oxides. what is this room made of? I think the answer is oxygen. can someone confirm this? thanks.

  • Answer:

yeah... it's oxyen... for sure... because living things need oxygen for life (A room is made of a clear life-giving gas.) and if you think about "it combines with most other elements to form oxides." then... it kinda gives it away... well... good job... hope this helps... =)

oxygen is right

yes its oxygen

Your are right, but you should know what elements are diatomic and which are not, and also which elements are metals and which are not. The biggest clue is the oxides, which literally means contains oxygen.

Yep, oxygen.

ChemTeam

of course its oxygen. It makes oxides

dustin_barr

The answer is indeed Oxygen (100% sure). Hope this helps.

The gas is Oxygen and, in view of the number of answers, I'll be different and say it's 21% of the atmosphere when the atmosphere only contains N2 and O2 (plus the Noble Gases). CO2, Water vapour and pollutants decrease the N2 & O2 percentages to less than the commonly used quantities of 78% and 21%.
