What factors affect the index of a refraction of liquid?

  • i need this ASAP!!! i dont even know what a refraction of liquid is!!! please help

  • Answer:

the refractive index is basically how much light bends as it passes from one form of matter (liquid, gas or solid) and into another. eg from air to water. if you look into a swimming pool, it looks deeper than it realy is, this is because the refractive index of water is greater than that of air so the light bent downwards. the biggest factor affecting the refractive index is density, the greater the density, the greater the refractive index.
