How to find the empirical formula for this?
-
Hi, I need to find the empirical formula for phosphorus selenide. I wrote P2Se3, but apparently it is wrong. Isn't P3+ and Se2-?? What would the empirical formula be?? Thank you!

Answer:
P4Se3 and P2Se5 are both common. P = +3 or +5 Se = -2, -4, or -6 P4Se3 (P = +3 and Se = -4) P2Se5 (P = +5 and Se = -2)
