How do you get rid of ingrown hairs on penis?

I have ingrown hairs on my penis and area from shaving my pubes. How do I get them to come out? It's been hard explaining to my girlfriend they are just ingrown hairs and not herpes.

Answer:
I would say not to shave as this can occur. Instead go down to your local Wal-Mart and buy an inexpensive personal grooming tool. I got one for about 15.00 and I love it. It is much easier and pain-free to groom and trim than to shave.
