How to stop taking xanax?

Would it be a good idea or bad idea to stop taking 12+ mg's of Xanax a day cold turkey?

  • Say someone takes upwards of 12 milligrams of Xanax a day, would stopping cold turkey be dangerous?

    If they enjoy grand mal seizures, having their skin try to escape from their body and never sleeping again then cold turkey from 12mg/day would be a good idea. It's not beyond the realm of possibility for it to be fatal, depending on their other health issues. Who's the irresponsible quack who approved that dosing? Did the Three Stooges take up medicine again?

It is not advisable to stop alprazolam (xanax). As this type of anti-anxiety medication, is only to stopped under close supervision of a doctor. The physician will always tell the patient to begin taking it out of your system slowly, by reducing the medication from now on. Like only taking half the mg. Now everyone is different, as we all have different ways our bodies adjust to the widrawl of any medication we stop. However if you stop out of no where you might experience Jitters, sweating, feeling anxious, and maybe depressed, that is why we advise to talking to your doctor and let him/her begin taking you out this medication slowly and he/she will be monitoring you to ensure your ok...I hope I help you with this Sweetelf, hope you feel better. : )

I think you should stick 12 mg of Xanax IN a cold turkey, and then give it to your annoying neighbor that complains about everything..
