Is it safe to use Maderma cream on a circumcision scar?
-
I was circumcised two months ago and want to use maderma on the scar while its still new, but there is still some swelling. Its been about three months since the surgery, and out of concern I went to the doctor to have him check it out and he said not to worry, that the rest of the swelling will take a bit to go down. What I forgot to ask is if its safe to apply scar cream while there's still some swelling. I don't want to call him because I have been asking too many questions and feel funny. What do you guys think?

Answer:
You need to wait six months after a surgery before applying Mederma. After six months, go ahead and follow the directions. If you happen to have an appointment between now and then, ask the doc. If he says to wait longer, don't worry. Mederma also works on old scars (not that it'll be very old...)
