What's the difference between Social Studies and History?

What is the difference between "World History" & "World Civilization"?

  • Now, we choose classes for next year in high school soon, and two of the Social Studies options are "World History" & "World Civilization". I just wanted to know, what is the difference between History & Civilization?

  • Answer:

World history is history of the world that is discovered through (mainly) archeologists. It includes things like old messages written in stone, objects that are dug up, etc. It shows patterns of things in the world which can come to conclusions as to when and where a certain native group lived or something like that. World civilization is something that shows/describes the stages of development ( mainly social development) and organization of humans. It goes into details like culture and things like that. I have included a couple links to help you out some :)

Other answers

World history has to do with learning about everything that has happened in the history of the world and world civilization is the study of society, different cultures and that.
