World Intersting facts?

Which country in the world has the most political leverage? Please back up your answer with facts..?

  • Just wondering, at the moment, which country in the world has the most political leverage to influence the world. I think the United states is still the strongest country in the world and its words still carry a lot of weight on the international stage. However, the thing is according to my observation, almost all countries in the world hate the US because it sticks its nose in almost every country's business. Looks like the only all-weather friend or ally of the United States is the UK. The rising power China has the largest population in the world. It's a permanent member of the UN. It's the 2nd economy in the world and is estimated to overtake the US real soon in a decade or two. And China is quite important culturally because. For thousands of years, the Chinese language has had great influence on Japanese, Korean, Vietnam. And a lot of Singaporeans, Malaysians are Chinese ethnically. It's having a bigger say these days on the world stage, but several countries seem to be containing its development. And recently looks to me like some countries are ganging up on China over the 'South China sea" dispute. And for the UK, it used to have colonies all over the world and its language English is the world language now. It's absolutely a power to be reckoned with. But having said that, it's just a small island country. It's even smaller than most states or provinces in the United States or China. Its political leverage has been on the wane. And its closest friend is the US, whose power is on the wane as well. So which country do you think has the most political leverage to exert in the world right now? Please base your views on facts, not just irrational nationalism.

  • Answer:

The biggest up and comer now...is absolutely CHINA...let me give you that again,,,CHINA. They have the most people, the biggest economy, the most manufacturing and exporting...everything you buy plastic now is from china..., buys up much of U.S. debt and actually controls some areas in Africa because of debt and loans. So, if you are in business and need to learn an Asian language...choose Chinese.

Much as I don't like a lot of things about America I am glad they seem to be the most powerful country. You don't read too much do you? Australia has long been a staunch ally of the US & we were involved in all their wars & conflicts against other countries in time of trouble. We have lost many good men fighting in those places.
