What are some cute love songs for teenagers?

Worst Songs of the 1960's: WHY?

  • A few weeks ago, I was thumbing through a Rolling Stone Magazine and it said something about having a list of the worst songs of the 1960's. The two songs that were listed were "I Got You, Babe" by Sonny and Cher and a song called "Sugar, Sugar" ( I think the 'Archies' may have sang that song). The magazine said that if you go to Rolling Stone.com, you could find the list. I'm not computer smart, so I couldn't get the list. I got onto Rolling Stone.com, but that's as far as I got. What I want to know is why are the songs of the '60's considered bad songs? I am very insulted by the fact that people are putting down songs that I grew up to. I see nothing wrong with "I Got You, Babe" or "Sugar, Sugar". These are the songs that I heard when I was a pre-teen and teenager growing up. I may not like YOUR songs, but I am NOT going to put them down as bad songs. Someone out there must like today's music, otherwise people would not be listening to them. How dare you call my pre-teen and teenager music the worst music of the 1960's. I sang and danced to those songs and they were a part of my life growing up. If you would have been a pre-teen or teenager when I was, then you would have been dancing and singing to that music, too. PLEASE DO NOT BE RUDE IN CALLING THE MUSIC OF MY YOUTH THE WORST MUSIC THAT WAS MADE IN THE 1960's. If people that are around fifty years from now start saying that Justin Bieber's songs are the worst songs of the early 2000's, the people who put him and his songs down, like you are putting my songs down, those people are going to have MANY people angry at them, the young girls who are pre-teen and teenagers right now will be furious like I am. I won't be around fifty years from now, so I won't experience that. But I can tell you that I am 58 years old and I LOVE JUSTIN BIEBER AND HIS SONGS!!! WHAT A LITTLE CUTIE!!! WHAT A FANTASTIC SINGER HE IS!!! I would like to know the complete list that Rolling Stone Magazine had for the worst songs of the 60's, so could someone please give me the list. One song was called "Yummy, Yummy, Yummy" (I've Got Love In My Tummy), I will admit that is a very silly song, but I grew up listening to that song, please don't call it a bad song. And please don't be rude by putting down other people's songs. I don't put down your songs, even though I may not like your songs. You like your songs, well, I liked my songs from the past. Thank you and have a nice day.

  • Answer:

Most of the songs of the 60's were great and founded proper pop music, especially The Beatles. Without that musical revolution today's music scene would not exist. As with all ages, however, there was some rubbish churned out. Remember 'They're Coming To Take Me Away Ha Ha' by Napoleon XIV and some of the sick songs, 'Terry' by Twinkle and 'Ebony Eyes', the Everlys? Also you've got to bear in mind that Rolling Stone magazine isn't the be all and end all. The list is only someone's opinion and yours is as good as theirs. If you enjoy it so be it. I tell you what though. Anybody who likes 'Rap' must be musically dead, Now That's What I Call Rubbish'.

Here's your list: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/photos/readers-poll-the-worst-songs-of-the-sixties-20111116 Wow! Nostalgia Express! Some I agreed with. MacArthur Park was a good song. Richard Harris wasn't such a great singer. And "I'm Henry the Eighth I am" is one of my all-time favourites.
