Why are the majority of people right-handed?

Why are more people right handed and right footed compared to left?

• The majority of people i know are right footed / right handed. Why is this ...? I myself are right handed and left footed, but in my entire class i am the only one left footed and only two people out of 29 are left handed. I dont think it is genetic like blue eyes or black hair or whatever, but why???

  This usually depends on the hand or foot their parents used as dominant. A child tries to copy adult behavior, and if they see their parents using their right hands or left hands, they will probably do the same. Also they could have placed a crayon or a pencil in their dominant hand first, or kicked a ball with their dominant foot first, and go used to it. Some people are right handed and left footed, because they kicked a ball with their left foot and it became comfortable. There could be many reasons, but these are some of the more common conceptions. (my dad and his twin brother have opposite dominant arms)- Hope that cleared up some confusion. Also, in some schools a while back (way back), it was taught to write with your right hand, or considered formal and normal, and if you were left handed you were made to change, or chose to. This eventually, probably caught on. Note, in some parts of the world, more people are left handed than right.
