Why can't humans sneeze and take a leak at the same time?

Muscles can't partially contract, so they are always either completely contracted or elongated. If you have ever tried lifting something too heavy you will notice that your muscle "dies" if it won't contract fully. It just completely elongates and your arm or what not just goes limp. OK, so when you sneeze your brain sends out a signal that your diphragm needs to contract quickly and with a lot of force. To prevent damage to your body, most every muscle in your body tenses when you sneeze, which is why you crumple when sneezing. The muscles around the urethra are no exception. These muscles control the flow of urine. They are the muscles that are built by doing Kegel exercises, which are most often used for sexual purposes and to prepare for birthing for pregnant women. But they say doing these exercises can help prevent prostate problems too. If these muscles are strong enough then they fully contract during a sneeze and cut off the flow of urine. However, if they aren't strong enough it will try to contract and then "die" causing the person to pee themselves. This happens quite often in pregnant women because of changes to the pelvis and everything else in there as the baby grows. So it is possible to urinate while sneezing, just not voluntarily. And the reason is because your body tenses the muscles in your body to prevent damage while sneezing.

I will simply have to add this question to the list of other great questions which defy answers or lead us to mystical solutions. There are some questions which are better left un-answered (for our own good and sanity). Among those questions which rival this one are the following: 1) IS THE POPE CATHOLIC? I mean, really now, how would any of us know? Do we spend time with him? Do we watch his every move? Does he ever duck into a synagogue on Friday evenings? 2) WHY DO WE DREAM? And if our dreams are frightening, if we suffer beatings and drownings while we dream, if we find ourselves naked while addressing the entire congress in a dream - then for god's sake, why do we continue to dream at every opportunity???? 3) HOW DID MY KEYS END UP IN THE REFRIGERATOR that time I couldn't find them for hours?????? 4) WHY DID I START WEARING A YELLOW HAT? 5) WHY DOES ONE WIN A FORTUNE IN VEGAS ONE DAY, SQUANDER THE FORTUNE ON THE NEXT DAY, AND CONTINUE TO DO IT OVER AND OVER AGAIN? 6) WHY DOES MANKIND CONTINUE TO ASPIRE TO MAKE WAR DESPITE THE FACT THAT IT IS CLEARLY THE LEAST PRACTICAL SOLUTION TO ANY PROBLEM? I must stop here because I don't want to share all my secrets and there are people following me. I must admit, humbly, that I don't have all the answers anyway, but I do know the questions. You obviously are not a woman of a certain age. Exactly to whom do you think those "bladder control" potions are being marketed? Laughing, coughing, reaching for the box on the top shelf at the WalMart....I'm a regular post-menopausal multitasker. Trust me. Oh that George Carlin video was just funny funny funny....had me LMAO.......and you are getting such nice answers......I am glad that one of them Takes the Path Less Traveled....because the way he is marking his Path...and leaving his scent.....the general public may want to stay away.....and Hemp is just Precious......the Ladies are telling you of our problem with accidental peeing....and yes....it comes with pregnancy....and with age....and it is because of the weakening of the muscles of the pelvic floor....and since it has become a topic here.....I will remind the Ladies that a loving sexual relationship (even if it is only with yourself) and regular exercise of the Pelvic Floor Muscles.....will save them a lot of bucks on the Feminine Incontinece supplies.....I didn't see anybody mentioned it....but at a later time you men will have that too....but then there it is.....it goes on that our society is more comfortable discussing female bodily functions than it is with those of the male....go figure..... Clearly, George was a Master of bringing us together to celebrate our shared experiences and he does it with such humiliating events....and we can laugh, knowing we all are faced with those little things, full well knowing how funny we must have looked when they occurred....and to know that we all feel the say things when they happen to us... I can. Thought everybody could. Unfortunately, the pressure goes way up and sprays like crazy for a second. Luckily my a**hole has never blown out.
