Would it be hard to be a pharmacist?

How hard would it be to become a Pharmacist if you have a Chem. Eng. Degree?

  • I'm wondering how hard it would be, if even possible, to become a Pharmacist with a Master's in Chemical Engineering (Concentration in Pharmaceuticals)? Would you have to go back to University for a few years? I'm really interested in chemical engineering, but I don't want to be stuck with an average-paying technical job for the rest of my life.

  • Answer:

Take your transcript and meet with a counselor at the pharmacy college. That would be better than the guesses you can get here.

It will not be wise to become a pharmacist. With a master's degree in chemical engineering you should be in a management post in the oil industry The salary and yearly bonuses are the best

my wife work for a pharmacist, and she said depending on how good yours grades where and how many of the classes are transferable you may still have 4-5 years more of school left. But you do have a better chance. GOOD LUCK

What you are thinking about is pharmaceutical chemistry and you could easily get an undergraduate chemical engineering degree and a doctorate in pharmaceutical chemistry.
