Way to generate electricity from rain? (I need this for a project)?

have a reservoir at some height above the ground, and a large area to capture rain water/funnel it into this tank. When the tank is full, open a valve and let the water flow under gravitational pressure to spin a turbine to drive a generator.

That is how facilities like Hoover dam and Three Gorges Dam in china operate. Rain falls in the mountains, and collects in a river. The river is damed so that the water collects. Now you have water at a height which has potential energy. This is released by letting the water fall down a pipe to acquire speed (kinetic energy) and then strike a water turbine, making it spin. This is connected to an electrical generator. You can do the same in miniature by collecting rain at as high a spot as possible, like a high roof. Then send it down a pipe into a water turbine, connected to an alternator or dynamo. .

You get allot of wind during rain fall, try using a motor connected with a wire. When the motor rotates by the force of the wind, it generates electricity which is transfered via the wire.

you normaly have high winds in the rain, also you could make the propellers on wind turbines adjustable so they be better for rain
