Where can I get experience even with no pay?

I got BS in Electrical Engineering since 6 years ago but never work in any engineering related field because I went to real estate (and everybody knows what happen to real estate). I have been trying to look for a job in engineering field but all of them said it's TOO LATE for me. I am over 30, have ZERO experience, and it has been 6 years (like a life time ago) since I graduated so no one will even accept my application. So, I want to know where I can get experience working in the field even if I don't get pay. Where should I look for something like that? I know that they have no-pay intern but I am not going to school right now so I am not qualify either. Please someone help me.
