What is the fundamental frequency and wave speed?

What is the equation to find the speed of a wave when frequency isn't given?

  • What would be the equation to finding the speed of a wave when frequency isn't given? The only equation I have is to solve with frequency :) Thanks

  • Answer:

    Frequency is inverted period - so if your period is T = 0.40s (I suppose it's in seconds, you didn't write it), frequency is f = 1 / T = 1 / 0.40s = 2.5 Hz. Speed is then v = f x l = 2.5 x 0.29 = 0.725 m/s

What's given? Do you at least have the wave's function?
