Your question itself is a folly. Let me explain. You asked which branch of engineering will be paid more in the future. This speaks out your conviction, which is right, that the future may be different from the present. But you also seem to be under the impression that the future is to stay here constant, which is wrong. Dont forget that the present of today was the future of yesterday. So it is not future which should guide your preferences, rather it is your innate ability, talent and aptitude. Remember, future never comes.

The future is not at all a concern....Focus on the present and the near future.....As far as i am concerned, electronics and mechanics offer unlimited opportunities in near by future.... Now that every one are well equipped with computer science......The opportunities are limited......A computer graduate's world is no longer a vast field.........Only the most specialist survive the fury!!

Softwares and electronic for sure. These will never stop developing and will need more fresh brains.

It isn't so much the branch but the level you achieve. Even a high level in a very competitive industry may not guarantee that, though. Marine engineers with "time in" make great money and see a lot of the world, but they start out watching gages midnight to 8AM while trying to keep their lunch down on a rolling sea. That greasy, pale, oil smelling lackey will do better than someone who is trying to design a component frame structure to a low end computer housing on AUTO CAD.

I think there will be greater demand for civil engineering. Places like New Orleans need better levies. Increasing numbers of towns and cities require infrastructure. Roads, bridges, tunnels, rails, canals, dams, high-rise buildings. You name it. In my opinion, within a hundred years we'll be colonizing Mars. Then comes terraforming to make the planet habitable. I foresee more pay for civil engineers.

I don't know but I'm going to study motorsport engineering this year so i hope that branch will pay well!
