How do you know if its "official?

I'm an architect studying for my MA degree , how can i know if the website I'm visiting is official or not

  • I'm trying to use the web to collect informations for my thesis , which is about (using solar cells in buildings). but I'm not sure if all sites I'm collecting the information from , are official, so how can I know ?

  • Answer:

Most of the sites you will be visiting will be commercial. Expect them to make claims that will need to be scrutinized. Some of these will have good information. I suggest you focus on Academic sites of well known, reputable universities. Steer away anyone who claims efficiency greater than 100%. There are still a lot of people out there selling perpetual motion machines. The Uniform Building Code is a very good source on technical details including average solar intensity by geographic location.
