How to build a mini Scissor lift?
-
So for part of my project i need to build a scissor lift aproximatly 1m wide and 1m long from scratch. If someone please tell me what i would need and how to put it together i would be very greatfull, as i cannot really find any guides on the internet. Also it does not need to lift anything heavy, only maybe 1 or 2kg. This is for my year 12 systems engineering project.

Answer:
most car jacks are scissor jacks, so you can look at the jack that came with your car. As for making a light weight one, you could build one out of either square tubing, or angle iron. all the joints for the diagonal sections will need to pivot, and you'll need a mode of force, such as a section of all thread with a bushing of some sort on one end, and a nut fixed to the frame at the other. The bushing could be as simple as a hole through a cross member and a set of double nuts on each side of the cross member.
