What are the universities in the world with electric engineer faculty?

What should I do to become a photovoltaic engineer?

  • All I wanna do is research, develop, and generally help to create the cheapest, most efficient solar cells ever so that everyone doesn't need to have electricity bills anymore. And we can save the earth as well! But I have no idea what to do to become a photovoltaic engineer who specializes in thin film solar cells. Anyone know what type of engineering photovoltaics comes under? (Eg. chemical, mechanical, electrical, etc) Also, what do I need to study? Degrees, postgraduate stuff, and all that? I'm currently doing my A-Levels in a local (Malaysian) college. Also, which universities would be good for this? Your help is greatly appreciated. I really want to help the world by making the best solar cells, the sun is a source of energy that'll never run out, that is, until the world itself comes to an end. I can't see myself doing anything else as a career. I've tried emailing professors in foreign universities, but nobody replied. I just need someone to show me the way. Thanks! :D

  • Answer:

Start with a degree in Electrical Engineering and include as much elective courses you find on solar energy, photovoltaic technology, design, etc.
