What is the difference between electrostatic generator and power supply?

Gensets?????..What is the difference between an open type and closed type power generator.?

  • Answer:

One has an enclosure and the other one doesn't is one definition. Another would be in regards to the generator housing conforming to hazardous area classifications. An open type generator has openings in the housing to allow air to flow through the generator for some cooling effect. There are several closed type generators, including TENV (totally enclosed non-ventilated0, and some with flame proof enclosures which have slots in the housing which will not allow a flame to pass through the slots. If you indicate which of the above your question is about, someone will give you the correct answers. TexMav
