What is a good laptop for ece engineering student?

Is laptop or a general computer is preferable for an engineering student ece student? answer is urgent.?

    A laptop is probably the best all-around choice. But they're also a lot easier to damage if you aren't careful (including heat damage if you leave them in your car). And they get stolen **much** more often than a desktop ☺ Doug

In the beginning of your engineering education, a desktop computer is sufficient. However, I found that a laptop was invaluable my senior year. This is due to the fact that you are always at school or in the lab, and your professors will use the web and computer applications during class.

There are lots of very capable laptops on the market. The only advantage of the laptop is portablity. The disadvantages are legion.They're more expensive to buy, more expensive to fix/upgrade and it's expensive to replace the battery which only lasts a few years, they have smaller screens, more fragile, probably more vulnerable to theft, the keyboards are crampted and I hate those stupid touch pads. But if you need a portable computer then nothing else will do.
