Why exam is necessary?

Why Indian GOVT going to raise 4 fold exam stress for ENGINEERing aspirants?

  • Now engineering aspirants(IIT & AIEEE etc)) do FULL & all maxximum possible preparation in PCM(physics, chem & maths) for competitive exams. But now Indian Govt has decided to introduce following things . 1:- Significant weightage to 12 th exam result, 2:- reasoning question test as part of the competitive exam, 3:-all sujects(lilke history & geography) questions read at school level ,to be part of competitive exa, 4:- Higher level questions of PCM(physics, chem, math) like present pattern of exam will continue to be part of competitive exam. Will this not raise may times the BURDEN on aspirants for Engineering aspirants.?????? Now 1:-they(engineering aspirants) will have to do FULL & all maxximum possible preparation in PCM(physics, chem & maths) for competitive exams only, 2:-they will have to do full preparation for 12th exam also including English besides PCM, 3:-they will have to do full preparation for all sujects(lilke history & geography) questions read at school level ,to be part of competitive exa, 4:-they will have to do full preparation for Higher level questions of PCM(physics, chem, math) like present pattern of exam will continue to be part of competitive exam. **************************************… For selection process in IIT etc, even single mark matters a lot. So, now aspirants will have to do FULL maximum preparation in all above without leaving a stone unturned.

  • Answer:

I guess the government wants to raise the standard of engineering in India, which is a legitimate goal in the country's present situation in which it is fighting to establish its technical industries and expertise in the world economy. This cannot be done without soundly educated, literate and numerate scientists and engineers. Even the USA has come to this realisation in recent years and is struggling to wake up. Many Indians (presumably engineers) are present on this Y!A forum as are for example Americans and, frankly, neither of them (on average!) makes a very competent impression. So buckle down and get on with it. Quit yammering. Why should you not work hard and complete "FULL maximum preparation". If you don't, someone else will. You don't hear the Chinese, Japanese or Koreans complaining like this and their entrance standards are really tough!
