Lithium and Alkaline Batteries?

Are lithium polymer batteries wet cell batteries or dry cell?

• Are lithium-polymer batteries, not lithium-ion batteries, wet cell batteries or dry cell batteries? I hear they use a liquid electrolyte, but I also heard from other sources that they are dry celled, and use a solid polymer "paste" as an electrolyte? I'm talking about lipo batteries that would be used in an RC aircraft. I'm using a 1600mAh 3S 11.1v 20c lipo battery, if that matters. The reason I ask is because I'm doing an engineering competition, which has rules banning the use of wet cells. Any answers are appreciated. Thanks.

  The full name of a lithium polymer battery is actually lithium-ion polymer battery. But I'm being picky. Your talking about your standard RC battery vs say a laptop battery. The fact is they use a gel or paste for the electrolyte. Now the definition of a dry cell is: A dry cell has the electrolyte immobilized as a paste, with only enough moisture in it to allow current to flow. So I would argue that it is a dry cell. Having said that, you should really contact a judge for the competition and get an ok from them before you invest alot of time into the project.
