Is engineering a good field to go into?

Civil engineering a good field to go into in 2 years?

  • Hi I am going to be going back to school in the fall as a junior in civil engineering at a well known school (Mich Tech). I have heard opinions that go back and forth as to whether civil engineering is a good field to get into or a field to avoid right now. As of now I am looking at going into Water Resources Engineering. Just wondering if there are any civil engineers out there who want to share their opinion on this. -Kris

  • Answer:

You have probably already heard this argument, but I will use it anyways. Civil Engineering is a great field of study because the current population trends are showing a massive increase in population in the years to come. More people means more structures that will require civil engineers to build. It is a reliable field. Hope this helps.

It is a stable field. Get a masters degree. You will get more money than with just a bachelors. Go into geotechnical engineering
