what are you building the wall with ? if you are building with p/t wood,there is just as much wood in the ground (anchored) than the wall it self, if by flag stone, you have to build it in a step(stair) pattern so it can interlock it self, because of the pressure, but using stone to back fill it is a waste of money, all you need is back fill. is this what you are asking?
