What is a minor in mechanical engineering good for?

What should a mechanical engineering major minor in?

  • oddly worded but you probably get it. any suggestions on minors that would help me with a job in that field? ive put so much thought in choosing mechanical engineering but never thought of a minor. If you are an engineer, what did you do?

  • Answer:

The beauty of minors is that they can be whatever you want....don't worry too much about using it to get a job. pick something you are really interested in. But make sure its not something too related to mech engr (so don't pick physics) If you are really set on finding a boring minor that will help you with a job...maybe try something entrepreneurial or finance related

I have not yet thought of a minor either, but I plan, keyword plan, on majoring in nuclear engineering. I would think that in any engineering field a solid background or a minor in physics would be highly beneficial, though with no work experience in the field I cannot give a definite answer.
