Electrical Engineer - i need some advice ?

I too have a master's degree in Electrical Engineering and after a recent downsizing the only job I could find is an an iron worker. getting engineering work is very tough these days due to outsourcing and the constant influx of H1B's from india and china (illegally I might ad). Getting into design is going to be very very tough, if you don't have a background in electrical design work you're pretty much sunk, most companies don't do on the job training anymore. as much as you hate your job, you might be better off toughing it out because both design and coding jobs are going away very quickly.

Try contacting the companies which have refused to give you an interview, and ask them the same question. Don't give up at the first attempt. Be persistant You never know, they might even offer you the job. After all, you've got absolutely nothing to lose by doing this, and might gain a lot.
