Which foreign language is difficult to learn and speak?

Which language learning is more difficult to learn to speak? English, French, Spanish?

  • Answer:

It depends on what your native language is. If you're Italian, then French or Spanish should be easiest to learn. If you're German, then English should be easiest to learn. I'm a native speaker of Arabic and French, and Spanish was easier at first because of all the similarities to French, but after a while, not everything could be transferred and it got harder... English on the other hand was easy from the start, its conjugation system is very straightforward and there is no case marking, no person and gender agreement, and plurality is almost always marked the same way... so in my opinion, English is the easiest.

None of those three is my native language, but I've only studied two of them, English and Spanish. Out of those two, English was by far the easiest. Spanish is so hard for me, all the conjugations, different genders, adjective agreement, different moods etc. In English, the hard part is the spelling, but after that things get really easy; almost no verb conjugations, no genders, adjectives always stay the same, no formal language (in Spanish verbs are conjugated differently depending on how well you know the person you're addressing) and so on. So yeah, I don't know about other people but to me, English was extremly easy to learn.

i don´t know why many english speakers think that english is harder than spanish and french, It isn´t true english has the poorest grammar of the three, without genders, with few conjugations instead romance languages have a lot of rules and even native speakers cant be a master at 100% in their own language and here in México and the others spanish countries, a person can learn english en 6 months or less spanish and french have accents and another letters like "ñ" "ê"english is the elemental language because is the easiest. just try to study french or spanish and see by yourself.

Of those, English is considered the hardest to learn, judging on if it is not your first language. I consider Spanish to be the easiest of those three languages.

Spanish. Spanish isn't easy. Maybe they say that because they don't know about subjunctive, or they don't know how to use correct punctuation and orthography rules in Spanish. I mean Spanish is one of the hardest languages. Just the subjunctive is totally hard, because in English you use it rarely. Look just this sentence: Si yo fuese a ser presidente algún día, no lo creería hasta que diera mi primera orden para ejercer como tal. I bet many people that say that they know how to speak Spanish, wouldn't understand how the subjunctive works, because it is really hard, I know many people that have Spanish as their second language, but they don't use the subjunctive because either they thought it wasn't necessary; which is totally wrong, or they just couldn't learn it. There is the topic about tenses, there are seventeen tenses, and we use all them every single day, when I was in 8th grade, and in my Spanish class our teacher named all those tenses, I said, I don't use them... but in fact I use them every day.... There are a lot of synonyms and antonyms. (Not big deal.) One accent mark, or one semi colon or one comma or one point, can change totally the meaning of the sentence, or can make of a sentences with no sense a sentence with sense. One example here: In this sentence you can just put ONE semi colon, where would you put it, so the sentence makes sense. And do it by yourself... Un señor tenía un perro y la madre del señor era también el padre del perro. Remember just one semi colon... In the other hand, I find English difficult in its pronunciation, because its grammar and vocabulary are pretty easy.
