Haha, that's the same for me. I'm trying to learn a language as well. If you have the money, I would recommend Rosetta Stone. If not, then there are websites that can help you to learn Spanish. Like here --> http://spanish.about.com/ Just look around online for any places, listen to music and watch TV shows like your doing. You said most of your family speaks spanish, so they could help you when you start to learn sentences and such. It's good to surround yourself around people who are speaking the language you want to learn. Also, you need to be focused and determined to learn, so pick a day each week and study spanish online or by a spanish/ english dictionary (they have a lot of things for learning spanish in a bookstore) and practice pronunciation for about an hour. It looks like you have a great start! Practicing and talking more consistently will cause your spanish to improve... but just like everything it takes time to master anything. I would encourage you to watch television in spanish as well. Personally spanish was my first language but once I started school I stopped talking in spanish. I knew enough to get me through Spanish class in high school. I applied for a job that required me to speak Spanish a lot more frequently and I had a very difficult time translating. Now that I've been working at the same job for almost two years, my spanish has improved tremendously!

Learn spanish the same way you learned english... learn how to say the different body parts in spanish, then animals, then other things and so on... ask your family to speak to you only in spanish... if you want to learn it fast and correctly that is the way... otherwise you will always be translating from english to spanish in your mind, and that is a pain in the butt..

tell them to speak to you only in spanish. you will learn quickly that way. watch tv in spanish, listen to music in spanish, and take any spanish classes that you can. you have to practice EVERY day.

Lol wow thats a hard one but well I grew up in a spanish speaking family too but I at least understand what they say very well.. I just have trouble speaking it ... best way to get better at it is to take a vacation trip down south XD.. or well talk Spanish as much as possible..
