wow you are excitable! Just use all that energy to look yourself. It depends what sort of stuff you want to be speaking to people about. First you must learn the grammar and rules of the language then build up your vocabulary. Why is there a great need to find a random german person? Can't you just get someone who already speaks English to send you letters? If you're doing it without a teacher it will take a few months to a year to learn a decent amount to actually have proper correspondance/conversation with anyone in another language.

Get to know some live Germans who can actually fart and everything. Then get them to tell you everything they know.
