Have you ever heard "jeezum" or "jeezum crow"??

  • ok i'm from maine and all my life i've heard/said "jeezum crow" or "jeezum" instead of jesus or jesus christ (ex: "Jeezum crow!! look at that!!" or "Jeezum crow lucy!!! what are you doing!?") and then i was talking to my friend who moved here from boston almost a year ago and when i said that he had no idea what i was talking about. he said he has never heard anybody not from maine say "jeezum" and he had never heard "jeezum crow" ever, but then he heard an old guy say the other day and he freaked out because he thought i was kidding. lol. so i've been wondering if you've ever heard of jeezum or jeezum crow. thanks. ^_^

    I sure have heard jeez um. My 1st husband was from New York and his father, who was originally from New Haven, CT said that ALL THE TIME. I have heard others say it too but never in the South. I have never heard jeez um crow until now, but that is funny. I have heard jeez um pete.

Im from MN and I have. maybe since your friend is from Boston he doesnt recognize the expression with out the accent

its a local thing. People in the mid east use to say Judas or Judas priest and in some places Jeebus
