Simple passe composse french help?
-
I am trying to say " In our hotel there was a restaurant" Please correct this sentence if it is wrong: "Dans l'hotel il y a etre un restaurant"
-
Answer:
you can't use the passé composé here, because the restaurant was there for a long time and when it is question of duration we need the imparfait in French: Dans notre hôtel, il y avait un restaurant. if you want to understand better, go there: http://www.frenchspanishonline.com/magazine/?p=56
