What do French people think of other French speaking countries?

What do people from other English speaking countries think of American accents?

  • I was just wondering what people from other English speaking countries, like the UK, Australia, and Ireland, think of American accents, since most Americans love "foreign" accent (I like the Scottish accent the most out of all the other English speaking accents). Is the feeling mutual or not? I have a Connecticut accent, which is said in America to be "no accent," with the exception of the occasional omission of a "t" (like instead of mounTain, I would say mow-in or lit'le instead of litTle). I speak like Meg Ryan or Paul Dano, who are from that area. You can also tell me your opinion on the other American accents like the Southern accent or the New York or Boston accent or the Valley Girl. I just want to know because I haven't really gotten a clear answer.

  • Answer:

I'm Scottish and have a Scottish accent :) I'm glad you like it haha Sometimes i think American accents can sound a bit... "whiney" and quite loud. That's usually the annoying ones on programs like "The Hills" I like listening to Southern ones, like from Texas and what not. They're a lot of fun haha I basically don't mind any of them, except i really can't stand "whiney" "screechy" ones. I think from.. Los Angeles? I could be wrong, sorry, my knowledge of all the states isn't that good.
