What is the present political condition of Bangladesh?

What is the condition of Urdu speaking Biharis in Bangladesh, living in camps, migrated from U P & Bihar, India?

  • They migrated from 1947, in hopes of better & tension free life standard. After formation of Banladesh with India's unlawful action(gross interference in the internal matter of a foreign nation, first secretly for two decades & later openly militarily too), they bore the brunt of terrorist Mukti Bahini & Bengali people later. They were best intellectuals of most sophisticated brains in that nation till then but it was reported that they were forced to live in sub human conditions. Their number may be 2- 3,00,000. Their third generation is being forced to live in dirtiest slums, as reported by Wusatullah Khan of BBC, 12 years ago. What is their condition now & why ? Are not Bengalis responsible for all non-sense ? Is that justified ? Is this Bengali culture ?

  • Answer:

Their conditions is parallel to bonded labour - Slaves.

First of all, if I do not care much about your ill-perceived notion as to how the country Bangladesh got its liberation from Pakistan and who are responsible for the breaking of Pakistan for which so many bloods were shed back in 1947; I can safely agree with you that the present days Biharis living in "Geneva camp" (GC) of Mohammadpur in Dhaka are living miserable life which can be attributed to those of similar Muhajirs in Natah-Khan-Gote, Karachi near Drigh Road, Pakistan or even worse than Pakistani Muhajirs. Last month I went to the GC in search of our Imam (who is a Bihari) and suffered some ailment. It was my second visit and I could see that people are living in a very sorry state, even if you compare them with average Bangladeshis who are having similar or less earning per day. A few years ago I helped distribute blankets to the residents of Bihari Camps in Jessore & Adamjee Nagar Dhaka courtesy Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan and got to know their plight, first hand. FYI, it is the Pakistani Generals and the infamous politician Zulfiquar Ali Bhutto who helped in accelerating the creation of Bangladesh. If you have any doubt then you may read history books written by people who are not inclined to the 'cause' of any of the three nations involved, viz., India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. I wish people of your mindset learn from history and help Pakistan retain whatever is now left of its four provinces. Btw, I lived my teenage life in Karachi and got repatriated in 1973 to Dhaka. I know that we have many vices but blaming Bangladeshi Mukti Bahini as 'terrorist' is tantamount to calling freedom fighters all over the world as terrorist. India got chance to meddle in Pakistan's affairs since the West Pakistanis treated the then East Pakistanis (now Bangladeshis) as people who are inferior to them and would ridiculed us on daily basis, not to mention about depriving us of our legitimate share in the statecraft, expenditures and other development areas. Hope you would rant less and read more from the history book. You may consider coming to Bangladesh and see things for yourself. You would be most welcome among us, even though you hate us! Hope above helps.
