Do they speak Russian or Ukrainian in ukrainian schools, restaurants and families in Kiev?

UKRAINIANS HAVE THEIR OWN LANGUAGE, UKRAINIAN WHICH IN SOUND RESEMBLES RUSSIAN. MOST OF THEM ALSO SPEAK RUSSIAN. IT WOULD BE HELPFUL TO KNOW SOME BASIC RUSSIAN ANYWAY. & YES ALL UKRAINIANS SPEAK THEIR MOTHER TONGUE.
