What are some hardships about learning a second language?
-
i need to do a class presentation, and i wanna talk a bit about both the advantages and i guess... difficulties of learning a second language... i have found a few websites that talk about how great it is to learn more than a language... but english is also my second language, and i have known english for about 7 years now... and i have to honestly say... that i am an extremely shy person and super self conscious, and even to this day, i kinda don't speak much.. at all... lol and one of the main reasons, is mostly cuz often when i speak, people don't understand me... they are often like "what?".... i honestly know my english would be better if i talked more... but... as i said, ever since i learned english, i have always been self conscious about people making fun of me, laughing at me for mispronunciation, etc... and that's particularly my hurdle about learning a second language... and also... i live in new york, and honestly, looooooots of people speak spanish, and i mostly only speak english if the other person doesn't speak spanish at all lol... so i kinda wanna point out in my presentation the advantages of learning another language, but also at the same time ... i wanna point out a few things that might make someone self-conscious, or one way or another might pose as a challenge for them to try and dominate the language.... if u guys speak a second language, and it doesn't come as naturally as ur first language... what would u say are some things that might be challenging for u guys? thanks

Answer:
Most of us (include me) learn English speaking by trying to answer any question coming to you. It's good at how many questions you can answer but you can't speak English naturally and fluently. To speak English naturally and fluently, you must learn to become a good communicator. It means you must learn to create content for speaking. If you don't know what you should talk about when you meet someone, you'll never speak English fluently no matter how long you spend on learning English. In this point, I propose you the rule name "Rule Answer-Question". No matter what you talk about, you communicate with someone by asking a question or giving an answer. If you know how to ask a suitable question or give a suitable answer in a suitable situation, you'll speak English easily in a short time.
