How should I say this in a resume?

Resume Help! How to say that I'm fluent in english but can speak adequate Cantonese?

  • How can I put that on my resume? I want to keep it nice and simple.. but I don't know how to word it on my resume! I feel very tempted to just put "Fluent in both English and Cantonese", but that would be half untrue. I have a lot of grammar problems when I speak in Cantonese, but it's enough for others to understand me. I can't write it either. Can understand it. Help?

  • Answer:

    "Cantonese (conversational/semi-fluent)"

Fluent in English and adequate in Cantonese seems simple enough to me. But I might make it into 2 lines rather than one just so it doesn't look long. Example: Skills -Fluent in English -Can speak adequate Cantonese
