How do sociologists explain prejudice?

Can anyone explain this quote from Pride and Prejudice?

  • "Lydia's going to Brighton was all that consoled her for the melancholy conviction of her husband's never intending to go there himself." i don't understand it can anyone help explain and i also need more quotes showing how Lydia's excitement about going to Brighton.

  • Answer:

The quotation shows that Lydia is more interested in being in Brighton than in being with her husband. She is realising that her marriage is a mistake but is only interested in her own pleasure and doesn't really care what her husband wants. You can find more quotes by reading the book
