How do you analyze a quote?

Help me with a format on how to analyze a quote?

grr I have a hard time analyzing quotes, I mean I try and try and my instructor keeps telling me I'm paraphrasing even when I try to analyze it, so can you give me tips on how to analyze correctly? also include examples? thanks so much

Patricia Neal Neal is trying to get across that no drug ever taken can create such happiness or joyfulness as a person just being optimistic. Tips I didn't use his words to say what I wanted to get across same message in my own words stated the gist of the quote I'm bad at english and all that stuff but this is what I can say if asked for help
