What does pablo picasso mean by this quote?
-
"Colors, like features, follow the changes of the emotions."
-
Answer:
Our features give different expressions, in response to different emotions. For example, something pleasant can make us smile, something annoying can make us frown, something humorous can make us laugh and so on. Picasso believes that colours change alongside emotions, in the same manner as our features. For instance, if you're in a peaceful mood, you may use calm colours such as blues and greens. If you're in love, your work may consist of bold and bright hues. Basically, it's Picasso's way of saying that colours are a universal representation of human emotions, and an artist's work cannot be separated from his or her feelings.
